- Living too far from the center
Berlin covers a huge area bigger than some countries. Living in districts such as Schneberg, Lichtenberg, Pankow, Neuklln, Westend, Treptow etc. will make any traveling to the more happening areas exhausting.
- Living in the West
Berlin is a unique city in more aspects than any other in the world. When you are here, make sure you live in an area where you can fully experience that.
West Berlin (Charlottenburg, Moabit) is conventional and basically the same as any other large West German city such as Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dortmund etc. The West is worth a visit but not to hang around. Living there will not make your stay in Berlin as special as it should.
